Not a bad time, but not so great against a really fast
field tonight.

Started in 3rd position on the inside of row 2. Right off the start
we fell back a couple of positions to 5th, then quickly moved up to
4th. The top 4 pulled away from the rest of the pack
throughout the race. We made a few attempts at passing for 3rd, but
finished in 4th, ahead of our nearest rivals in the points battle.

Another flag-to-flag event! The #3 PEPSI /
Mac's Motorsports Legends Car started on the pole and we never
saw a car in front of us, except lap traffic. There was huge
pressure from behind! Thankfully we were running much faster laps
than our qualifying time! #27 Jamie Beatson was pretty much glued to
our back bumper from the start, with an occasional attempt to get by.
We started to catch lap traffic on lap 12, and spent a lot of the next 10+
laps in the second groove. A caution at lap 24 got us all bunched up
again, with clear track ahead.
On lap 29, #27 tried to take us on
the outside of corner 2 but ended up losing his position. #67 lost
his right front wheel (which was borrowed from us!!!) on lap 33, bringing
out another caution. Race City held the lap counter at 35, so the
final dash was 5 laps - with #H20 glued on our bumper. On lap 39 he
drilled us hard going into corner 3 (accidentally he says) but Brent
managed to hang on, finishing 1st !!!
Again !!! :-)
Now we're
leading the points race for the
Calgary Championship too!
